Here's a pic of the old CSI Urdaneta. As you can see it's being torn down. This used to be the cinema (left half of the bldg.). Any info on what CSI's plans are for this building? Cinema renovation? Store expansion? If you ask me CSI should build a bigger/grander structure in Urdaneta. A mall perhaps since they are already lagging behind Magic Mall & CB Mall.

i Agree. or at least improve the warehouse club so it can accommodate more shoppers. also include leisure facilites para hindi bili tapos takbo ang mga tao.
Sayang din yung Tsapstiks restaurant na hindi rin nagtagal. wrong timing lang. they built it when CSi was just about to be torn down

Masarap ba food sa tsapstiks? Di ko na-try dun eh. I hope CSI tears down the entire CSI - Urdaneta and converts it into four cinemas. I think Urdaneta only has three cinemas now. All in Magic Mall. I still remember the days when there we're like 3 separate movie houses although I've only been to CSI because most of the other cinemas show R-18 movies. Takot din ako sa ahas sa Rocca. What were those cinemas again? Rocca, Roselle & CSI? Did I miss anything? Will CB Mall have cinemas once it's completed?

We stopped by CSI The City Mall San Fernando, La Union on the way to Ilocos last December and what struck me was that it's basically CSI Warehouse Club Urdaneta (size wise) only with more food stalls and boutiques. Why won't CSI do the same in Urdaneta? Urdaneta is a far more potent market than San Fernando. I think CSI is the only mall in San Fernando and it's a marginal mall at best. Like I said, it's just a warehouse club with a few fastfood & boutiques here & there. When we were there, the aisles seemed so wide since there were very few people in that mall. You don't see that in Urdaneta. Kasla nag-ilet dyay mall kaskada warehouse tayo idtoy Urdaneta ti kina ado na ti tao. ;D All our malls/warehouse clubs/department stores/supermarkets are jam packed considering we have quite a number of these establishments. San Fernando on the other hand only has CSI-The City "Mall" and yet very few people flock this "mall" compared to Urdaneta. The only thing keeping San Fernando alive business-wise are the regional government offices. I don't know why it was chosen as the capital of region 1. Maybe it's because it's almost at the geographic center of the region. I don't buy that though. The selection of the regional capital should have been through population density and economic activity. If that was the case then Dagupan would have been the capital of region 1. Even Urdaneta would have been considered since our city is tops in the region financially. My point here is that Urdaneta deserves something more than CSI-Urdaneta or CSI Warehouse Club Urdaneta. Maybe a CSI-The City Mall Urdaneta since CSI already made a lot of money in our city and it's time to return the favor.

Photo updates on CSI-Urdaneta Renovation/Expansion It looks like they're converting the old cinema into an extension of the existing supermarket/department store. I was hoping CSI would convert it into a mall since this branch is already far behind Magic & CB Malls. Though it's not impossible that they are converting it to a mall because it looks like they are also expanding the structure towards the back. I don't have a better picture of it though. I only realized it when I was browsing the pics I took on my laptop. The windows are also a welcome addition. Mahiya naman sila sa katapat nilang CB Mall na Palafox ang nagdesign. Link to larger pic: farm3.static.flickr.com/2078/2265864015_068c84962d_o.jpg

Astig mga kuha mo tracymack! haha, talagang kinuham o pa anggulo para icompare ang CB at CSI. ;D
There is a rumor tho that it is being acquired by LCST, the school beside it pero hindi pa naman confirmed.

Why would they invest on expanding it if they can't expect higher revenue? They can't survive with sales from Urdaneta alone. Before, we buy our monthly supplies from Urdaneta but now it is more convenient for us having it from SM where everything is available. We only go to urdaneta for the monthly check up of my son since his pediatrician is in Urdaneta. Observe, by the time Rosales got its own Hospital and university there is no reason for people from alcala, santo tomas, villasis and other neighboring town on its eastern part to go to Urdaneta.
