Any suggestions?
Balita ko pag nag volunteer sa Sacred Heart Hospital, kailangan magbayad ka ng Php. 1000.
Totoo ba ito?

mga kapanalig, di nyo kailangan ang magvolunteer kung ang interes nyong puntahan, amerika. daming nurses doon ang nakakapagwork ng walang experience. the truth is, if you plan to work in the u.s., better not learn philippine nursing or you will find it difficult to pass the nclex. philippine nursing is totally different.
at bakit kayo magpapaalipin sa sacred to volunteer? pinapayaman nyo lang silang mayayaman. you will provide them professional services. it makes no senses you paying up 1000 pesos just to be able to do your job. wake up people!
work for government hospitals if you plan on practicing to get experience.

Most private hospitals and clinics charge fees related to nurse volunteering. It's farce but a fact. Volunteer fees controls establishment and career learning for the inexperienced nurse graduate. Who are these nurse graduates? To date or to your functioning nerve, you are competing with more than 20 to 40T who passed the local board every year. Are there any philantropic health organizations to accept these young graduates and gamble these inexperienced hands to care for their paying patients? Should you volunteer, there are always the learned supervising payed RNs (experienced nurse or doctor) guiding your every aspect of hands-on learning. Count on public hospitals, then better seek public godfathers, and lucky enough if this facility charge nothing or include you in their payroll as volunteer. Good luck for seekers.

Good luck for seekers. i agree. but to my dear colleagues, please do not allow yourself to be exploited by those vultures. worry not about getting experience. i never worked as a nurse anywhere else in the world - not even in our "inang bayan." batch '97. worked an alternative career right after graduation until i took the state board in 2006 (self-review) and i have been happily employed since then as an rn. experience never a requirement.
